You Can Have Your Zion Williamson Highlights, I'll Take RJ Barrett's Game
Coley talked a bit about Zion Williamson last night and he was damn good – Zion was good too. But, I was more interested in how RJ Barrett would play in Duke’s opener in Canada. He did not disappoint. Now, I’ll say the same thing as I did with the Kentucky tour. You can’t sit here and make a bunch of blanket statements because of exhibition but you can take some things away.
RJ Barrett is really goddamn good. I don’t care if it’s an exhibition or not. He finished with 34 points and looked the part of the star. I think RJ Barrett is the most talented player in college basketball this season and the likely No. 1 overall pick for the NBA Draft. I don’t think that’s necessarily a hot take, but you see the athleticism in the first video and then here you can see a Euro move that translates well:
Zion is the name that people know because of the dunks and again he was pretty impressive. However, this team is RJ Barrett’s team. That’s who needs to be the go-to guy for Duke. If you even want to take it a step farther, I think Tre Jones is the second most important player on that roster because he’s finally a true point guard for the Blue Devils. Yeah, Cam Reddish is the second best player (he didn’t play yesterday), but Jones is the second most important.
